Package comparison
“Sales after packaging” subtracts only the packaging amount entered. It is not profit and does not include honey production, labor, market fees, taxes, shipping, or overhead.
Why price per pound matters
A $10 small jar and a $20 large jar cannot be compared by sticker price alone. Converting each package to dollars per pound shows how strongly each size monetizes the same honey.
Smaller containers often carry more packaging cost
Two pounds of honey sold as four 8 oz jars require four jars, lids, and labels. The same two pounds sold in one 2 lb jar use one packaging set. The comparator makes that tradeoff visible.
This is not a recommendation to maximize price
Customer preferences, local market expectations, labor, throughput, retailer margins, and perceived value all matter. Use the output as one input to your own pricing decisions.
